COURSE OVERVIEW

STEP 1: CLASSROOM REVIEW AND POOL INSTRUCTION DIVES

Classroom Instruction

You will spend a short amount of time in the classroom quickly reviewing topics which the PADI student materials covers.  We will also discus different diving equipment, additional diving opportunities / locations and what to expect during your Open Water Certification Dives.  We will finish off with dive computers which have become standard piece of equipment for today’s scuba divers.  We feel a new diver should learn how to use and understand this essential but uncomplicated piece of equipment from the start.  Each student will use one of our Oceanic dive computers in both the pool along with open water certification dives.  (approx 2 hours of class time)

Pool Dives
This is were the fun begins! During the pool sessions you will learn and develop basic scuba skills in an olympic-sized, heated indoor swimming pool that is just minutes from the store.  You'll learn how to set up your diving gear, clear your mask of water, hover and several other important skills.  The skills learned in the pool will prepare you to dive in a variety of open water environments.

CLASSROOM & POOL (STEP 1) SCHEDULE OPTIONS:

STEP 2: CERTIFICATION DIVES

After completing your Pool & Classroom, you are ready to finish off the PADI Open Water Certification.  During the summer months (May thru September) we dive at our own private lake, the Coral Sea, located just 5 minutes from the store!  There is no fishing, no boating, just us diving.  Student divers will make a total of 4 dives over a 2 - half day period. This is your time to show off the same skills practiced during the pool dives (Step 1).
