When it comes to choosing the right equipment, there will be no shortage of people telling you what’s the right buy in the world of diving. But sometimes the answer isn’t so subjective! For example, what cutting tool is best for you?

The simple answer is it depends on the environment you’re diving in. Is it a wide open coral reef with minimal boat traffic and maximal fish? A simple fishing line cutter may be all you need. What about diving in murky water with thick kelp? Then a larger, trusted knife may be your best friend.

When in doubt, it’s always better to carry some form of a cutting tool (for your and your buddies’ safety!) than none at all. What’s your go to cutting instrument for diving??
