How to Clean a BCD

Most people rinse their BC after ocean or pool use but many stop there.  When air is dumped during a dive, water enters the inside of the BC. Rinsing the outside does nothing to protect the inside from rotting due to sitting salt water or chlorine.  Removing a dump or pressure relief valve allows you to thoroughly flush the BC with tap water.

Next step is to condition the inside. After it is rinsed well then add a product like BC Life and water. Swish around so all parts of the bladder are coated. Then drain without rinsing. Let it dry, replace the valve and store with confidence
