Let's Address the Elephant in Your Wetsuit...

As the old adage goes, “There are only two types of divers… those who pee in their wetsuit, and those who lie about it!” So, is it ok to pee in your wetsuit? And if so, when and where?

This is a hotly contested issue in the diving community. On the one hand, if ya gotta go, ya gotta go! If the environment is justifiable (aka a large body of water like the ocean or a lake) then let it fly. Bonus points for warming you up! On the other hand, let’s throw sanitation in the mix. In essence, you are coating yourself in your own, uh, fluids. Just make sure to rinse and thoroughly clean that wetsuit regularly. And for goodness sake, don’t pee in the pool!
