How to Care for Your Wetsuit
Soap, bleach, Hot water, ironing... Your kidding right? No!
Use only wetsuit shampoo and conditioners. Otherwise you will ruin your suit. Why, because clothes soaps, baby shampoo, dish soap, fill the pores and spaces and render the thermal qualities of the suit useless.
Always rinse in fresh water after pool and ocean use. Dry inside and out. Use a wide hangar to store the suit and do not store it in a plastic bag.
A suit should be conditioned once a year whether you use it or not. They dry out just sitting in the closet.
Do you sweat in your suit? Yep. How about bacteria from the pond or ocean you dive in? Yep. Do you pee in your suit? Yep. Or do you lie about peeing in your suit? Yep. After a couple days the funk ripens. Kill it with a natural enzyme deodorizer meant for neoprene. Cheap and easy to use. Our favorites are Mermaid Tears or Mirazyme.
