St. Eustatius or Sint Eustatius as they call it is one of those bucket lists places that you probably haven’t heard of. A small volcanic island in the northeast Caribbean. A special municipality of the kingdom of the Netherlands.
Diving is a big attraction in “Statia”, yet it maintains its pristine condition because they limit the annual number of divers allowed. A diver’s dream for the Caribbean due to its unique mix of warm water, healthy reefs, ample shipwrecks, and underwater volcanic landscape, and it is so limited.
The dive sites are only 5–10-minute boat ride. Quill National Park has hiking trails along the ocean and around the volcano, which features a rainforest and many species of orchid.
Surrounding the island are narrow beaches of volcanic sand. Offshore, St. Eustatius National Marine Park's dive sites range from coral reefs, historic anchors, to shipwrecks. It includes one of the top 3 rated night dives in the Caribbean.
