Why I teach: I’m happy to be a teacher. I enjoy the personal connection with people. Each student is unique and knowing them enriches my life. As they say, the teacher often learns as much or more than the student, and I’m inspired by people who overcome big or small obstacles with determination and a positive attitude.
Why Join Coral Key Scuba: I came from a Dive Center with an exceptionally large staff. Our families center of gravity for home is the Denver area and family is important to us. When we came into Coral Key it was very welcoming and the atmosphere was immediately fun.
Favorite Dive location: Where I am at the moment, but I would choose Bonaire. I’m also a bit of a sucker for the cold Pacific.
Bucket list Location: Rock Islands Palau
Day job: Retired Soldier.
BIO: I lived and breathed the dive industry as a full-time employee in 2014 at a PADI Five Star Center and became a diver in 2015 I have always made being on the water a part of my life. From surfing in California in High School to among other things an Instructor of Class V Whitewater Kayak, Swift Water Rescue, and River Stand Up Paddle boarding. I have a passion for teaching others the things I love. I have always been a life long learner and as an avid historian I love to learn as much as I can about the locations I’m headed to dive. Teaching SCUBA challenges me because it requires ALL of me. I have learned so many things from my students, and the longer I teach, the more I learn; teaching is the ultimate learning experience.
