DPVs... The Coolest Thing Since Sliced Bread
Scuba diving is a sport filled with amazement. You’re breathing underwater swimming amongst species that humans were never meant to be around with for more than a couple minutes. With modern technology we can keep humans on the bottom of the ocean for months at a time. But, as with any hobby, there will come a time where you want to add a little spice to it! Enter the DPV, or Diver Propulsion Vehicle. Unleash your inner human torpedo and you can cruise and glide through the water at pretty impressive speeds (We’re looking at you, Sublue!). With DPVs you are essentially assured to see more of the dive site and in a much more timely and energy efficient manner. Also, if you have an mobility or swimming issues, DPVs can be a very gentle and accessibly way to explore our underwater world! One downside that they have is the noise, however. So if you’re trying to sneak up an elusive fish they may not be the best kit to bring.
Have you dove a DPV before? Tell us where!
