The Almighty Dry Box
It’s no mystery why you find so many people on dive boats with their “dry gear”: dry bags, moisture wicking apparel, and even water wicking BCDs! But one of the most protective and sturdy pieces of kit to bring on the boat would undoubtedly be the dry box. Usually used in conjunction with a dry bag, the boxes are for those fragile materials that may be a necessity on the boat. Think cellphones, room keys, wallets, and even camera gear. There are several different sizes and styles of dry boxes, and many photographers use them to keep their media, like SD cards, completely dry and organized. Additionally, they come in several different sizes from the simple key card and keys to the larger pelican cases meant for extra large camera housings.
