Can You Use Vintage Dive Gear?

We’ve all seen that diver on the boat. Beat up Jet Fins, a dual hose regulator, and maybe a horseshoe collar to boot! You may be surprised, but many pieces of vintage equipment are still absolutely usable in the modern era, and some would argue are even more practical!

A large reason why divers give up the old gear isn’t because it quit working, but because the manufacturers refused to make parts! That being said, it is very important to have your gear serviced and checked by a certified technician at least on an annual basis. This rule is even more important for older equipment. It’s only a matter of time until a hose leaks!
